Cuts plastic waste and CO₂ footprint

Turn an everyday product into your company's green statement.
Built from the same materials as our biodegradable umbrella — scaled up for festivals, events, and outdoor experiences. Zero plastic. Zero permanent waste.
Pilot agreements signed for 2027 season · Nordic festivals onboard
Every festival season, tens of thousands of tents are abandoned across European festival fields. Made from plastic, nylon and fibreglass, they are almost impossible to recycle and persist in landfill for centuries. They quietly undermine the sustainability efforts of festivals, sponsors and event organisers.

100% biodegradable
Festivals can offer the branding on every tent to their sponsors and reduce their own cost. The sponsor gets a logo that is seen and photographed all festival long — and a green statement that holds up, because the tent leaves no plastic waste behind.

Unmistakable. Zero trace.

The classic pyramid form — sharp lines and folded panels that stand out in any field. Most visible from a distance, making it ideal for branded festival villages and high-traffic zones.

Comfortable. Spacious. Durable.

The Shelter combines a familiar form with radical materials. A spacious interior and angular roofline provide structural strength and weather resistance. Designed for extended use across multiple environments.

Low profile. High resilience.

A curved, compact form that distributes wind and weather loads efficiently. The most weather-resilient of our designs — best suited for exposed sites and longer event durations.

Vision
Our journey began with a simple question: could we build an everyday product from materials that disappear when discarded? The answer was the world's first biodegradable umbrella. Today, the same kraft paper and PHA technology scales up to festival tents — and tomorrow to parasols and full event pavilions.
Same materials. Same promise. Bigger impact.

We are actively validating our biodegradable weatherproof structures with leading festival partners across Scandinavia.
We work with two natural materials that already exist in abundance and return safely to nature — no fossil fuels, no microplastics, no permanent waste.
The structural backbone of our products. Made from renewable wood pulp, kraft paper is surprisingly strong, lightweight, and biodegrades within months under composting conditions. We source from sustainably managed forests.
What makes our products waterproof. Unlike conventional plastic made from oil, PHA is produced by bacteria and breaks down completely in soil and water — leaving no toxic residue behind.
Most products are designed to last. Ours are designed to leave no trace. After use, they biodegrade in months under composting conditions, not centuries.
Our tent is designed for 2–14 days of use, with an ongoing development target of 12 months. It biodegrades under composting conditions after use — no plastic waste left behind.
Yes. Your logo, colours, and message are printed directly on the tent, turning every setup into a moving billboard.

Step 1 of 2

Greenstart AS is an innovative startup with a clear vision: to eliminate single-use plastic waste from festivals and events. Our biodegradable festival tent — built from kraft paper and plant-based PHA — is the world's first tent designed to disappear. The same technology powers our biodegradable umbrella, with parasols and pavilions in development. We believe the future of outdoor experiences is one that leaves no trace.
